Observation is the first step in creating art—it allows us to draw what we truly see, rather than what we think we see. This sounds simple but our subconscious becomes trained without our knowing and breaking free from it can often be more of a struggle than we realize.
In Contour Connection, you’ll develop this essential skill in a calm and supportive environment, designed to help you relax, focus and create.
We’ll begin with a moment of breathing exercises to help melt away distractions and get into the ever-precious artistic “zone”, before diving into the world of shape and form through blind contour drawing. You’ll explore observation techniques and then bring your drawings to life with a splash of watercolour, adding vibrant personality to your creations.
Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned artist, this workshop is a unique, relaxing experience to sharpen your artistic eye and embrace the joy of creative expression.

From a young age, Corrie found solace in the simple act of drawing. With a sketchpad in one hand and a pencil in the other, she explored the world through lines, shapes and shadows. Her passion for art grew as she did, leading her to study Illustration at Sheridan College, where she honed her skills and discovered her unique voice as an artist.
For the past 35 years, Corrie has immersed herself in the world of graphic design, combining her love for art with the precision and creativity required in the field. Her career has been defined by a deep appreciation for line art, a style that resonates with her belief in the beauty of simplicity and the power of a single stroke to convey emotion and meaning.
Art has been more than a profession for Corrie; it has been a lifelong journey of expression and self-discovery. Now, Upchuckle Creative Workshops is proud to have her share this journey with others, with the goal of helping people embrace drawing as a way to connect the mind, body and spirit. We believe that through art, individuals can find balance, peace and a deeper understanding of themselves.
