Have a positive impact as an Upchuckle Education Volunteer!

We’re always looking for great people who are passionate about supporting others—so introduce yourself anytime! (must be 15+)

Become an Upchuckle Volunteer

Our wonderful Volunteers primarily assist us at our Cartoon Camps (held for up to 12 students, ages 8-13ish) at our school in Barrie, ON.

NO ART SKILLS ARE REQUIRED!

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

  • Clear, friendly and respectful communication with clarity of duties, expectations & timelines

  • Flexibility

  • We do all the manual labour, setup/cleanup and teaching ourselves (not you)

  • Work with and learn directly from a 20+-year professional artist, animator, & award-winning director!

  • The opportunity for your own artistic growth and learning—often participating in the same exercises & activities

  • A supportive environment where your own ideas & contributions are valued and welcomed

  • Other surprises, bonuses & perks such as provided pizza lunches, all materials and more! (as relevant to the event)

  • A stellar and industry-relevant reference, in return for professional & reliable support

  • A Cartoon Camp Volunteer “Uniform” (a T-Shirt) :)

  • If you’re creative and would like it: Support, feedback and advice on your own work.

Whether you’re a High School student looking for a cool experience & volunteer hours*, a college student, a hobbyist or retired professional, we’re happy to hear from you!

*May require confirmation from school officials to count toward student volunteer hours (each school seems different). After a successful interview, we would provide you with a letter outlining the role and charitable aspects of Upchuckle Education to obtain this confirmation and approval.

Inspire and support artistic growth in children by becoming an Upchuckle Education Volunteer!

WHAT YOU PROVIDE:

  • Clear communication

  • Reliability and professionalism

  • A kind positive, supportive attitude for our students. Joining us in leading our students by example.

  • For Volunteers 18+: A Vulnerable Sector Check is required (After a successful interview, we help with this and reimburse the cost for clean record checks)

  • The role essentially primarily consists of being an extra set of eyes. Watching the other students if one needs to be escorted to the washroom etc. but also participating in art/animation exercises with the students.
