This is where your story truly begins! Move beyond the single image and discover how to make your art live, breathe and connect across a series of panels. We’re exploring the secrets of visual storytelling, understanding composition and learning how to lead a reader’s eye from one great moment to the next.
The Goal: Bridge the gap between individual sketches and a complete narrative by exploring mood-setting camera angles, pacing and the natural flow of a story—or a well-timed punchline!
The Final Project: Each artist will script, pencil and ink their own original comic strip or 1 full-page, bringing a character-driven story moment or joke to life from start to finish.
THE LOGISTICS
⏰ When: 4 dates on June 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th (Total time: 9hrs) from 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM.
🎨 For Who: Creative explorers ages 7–13 who want to level up their art, design, storytelling and animation skills.
✏️ What’s Included: All traditional art supplies, a juicebox and light snack are provided for each session—just bring your imagination!
🏆 The Setting: A specialized, small-group environment (max 12 students) led by an award-winning industry veteran at Upchuckle Education in Barrie.
