How To: Create Flipbook Animation

There’s something magical about the first time you flip the pages of a pad and see your drawings move for the first time. This one-day Summer Cartoon Camp is all about that "it’s alive!" moment—transforming a simple sketch into a performance that lives, breathes, and acts right in front of your eyes.

Working alongside an award-winning animator and director, your child will learn the professional secrets of timing, weight, and motion to give their characters real personality. We're diving into visual storytelling one page at a time to create a physical mini-movie they can hold in their hands.

The Magic Continues: To make sure those creations live on, each student will receive at least two video files of their animated work the following week—ready to share with friends and family!

✅ Ages 8–13 (or grades 3–8)
✅ 10am–4pm (with an optional extended hours program)
✅ All materials and a pizza lunch included
✅ Small group setting for lots of personal attention

  • Ages: Cartoon Camp is for ages 8–13 (grades 3–8). Exceptions are to be requested and approved in advance. If you wish to discuss, contact us at Education@Upchuckle.com.

  • Registration: Children must be enrolled by their parent or legal guardian.

  • Privacy: Upchuckle Education fully respects your privacy and will never share or sell your information to others.

  • Terms: By purchasing admission, you fully agree to the CARTOON CAMP-TERMS & POLICIES AGREEMENT, linked to above.

  • After Purchase: Within 1 business day of payment, you’ll be emailed your mandatory Student Information Form. Your child’s seat is only secured once this form is completed and submitted. Missing the provided form due date may result in cancellation and be subject to our refund policies.

  • Clarity: Cartoon Camp is designed for kids who love drawing, creating, imagining and collaborating with others. If your child isn’t interested in these activities, Cartoon Camp may not be a good fit. Please note, Upchuckle Education is an art & animation school—not a daycare provider.
