It’s time to break away from the habit of drawing flat and lifeless characters in the same old pose! Strong design and performance (especially in cartoons) is all about learning to create and control exaggeration. Push the boundaries of what you thought was possible in this fun and exploratory month of expressive character creation!
The Goal: Master important design principles such as line of action, balance, weight and how to push them to the extreme, bringing incredible energy and life to every drawing.
The Final Project: Each artist will create a 3-Pose Model Sheet and 3-Head Expression Sheet to explore and define their own great character like never before!
THE LOGISTICS
⏰ When: 5 Dates on April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th (Total Time: 11hrs & 15mins) from 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM.
🎨 For Who: Creative explorers ages 7–13 who want to level up their art, design, storytelling and animation skills.
✏️ What’s Included: All traditional art supplies, a juicebox and light snack are provided for each session—just bring your imagination!
🏆 The Setting: A specialized, small-group environment (max 12 students) led by an award-winning industry veteran at Upchuckle Education in Barrie.
