How To:
Turn Your Pet into a Cartoon Character!
Friday, November 20th
Students will capture the quirks of your family pet and transform them into a personality-packed cartoon character this P.A. Day! We’ll explore simplified animal anatomy and character design techniques to turn real pet photos into expressive artwork—complete with a short comic starring their pet! (No pet? No problem!)

In this personalized Cartoon Camp, students will learn how to translate photos of your family pet into expressive character designs! By studying and sketching one another’s pets throughout the day, students build real drawing skills across a wide variety of species, body types, and animal personalities. (No pet? Your child will have just as much fun learning how to draw & developing designs of the other students' pets!)
The Goal: To build an understanding of animal construction and character exaggeration. Students will learn how to build animal characters using simple construction shapes, exaggerate unique physical traits, and use expressions and posture to bring out your pet’s unique personality.
Mini Final Project: Students will draw a complete Expressive Model Sheet—featuring multiple poses, expressions, and personality notes—and then put their design into action by creating a short story and comic starring their pet!
Photo Requirement for this Camp: If your child is drawing your family pet, please email us 3–5 clear, full-body photos of your pet (especially ones that show off their personality!) no later than November 17th. (If your child doesn't have a pet, no photos are needed—there will be plenty of great family pet photos they can choose to design from!)
IMPORTANT: These photos will be shown to all students and used to draw from at Cartoon Camp, so please ensure they are clearly focused on your pet and do not include anything that may embarrass your child when shared with the class.

For Ages: 7-14
In this 4-hour Halloween Cartoon Camp, students will dive straight into fun, playful drawing games that spark creative thinking! They’ll learn how to transform simple construction shapes into expressive monsters, haunted sidekicks, and personality-packed characters—all while using their artistic talents to give back to the community.
The Community Charity Project (3rd Annual Collaboration!): For the 3rd year in a row, Upchuckle Education is proud to be part of Oatley Vigmond’s Accessible Halloween Village! Students will design and draw custom Halloween colouring pages. These sheets will then be printed and (along with candy) gifted directly to trick-or-treaters attending the event specifically built for children requiring mobility, sensory, or neurodivergent accommodations.

We appreciate that every student is an individual and don’t believe in "one-size-fits-all" solutions. Our full-day Cartoon Camps are 6 hours long, which can feel quite demanding for younger or inattentive students.
As a specialized art and animation school, we do not have alternative activity spaces or non-art backup programs. If your child is outside our stated age range but is passionate about creativity and thrives in a focused group setting, please reach out to us at Education@Upchuckle.com to discuss if Cartoon Camp would be a good fit.
Some Cartoon Camps may have built-in exceptions to the age range. See their info pages for details.

Absolutely! For your convenience, we offer a flexible Extended Hours Program for our full-day Cartoon Camps (10am-4pm) to help accommodate busy family schedules.
It allows for drop-off as early as 7:30am and pick-up as late as 5:30pm while your child enjoys inspiring and fun supervised creative time.

We offer a Sibling Discount: 10% off the 2nd seat when registering two children for the same Cartoon Camp. This discount is automatically applied during the checkout process.
Note: Sibling discounts do not apply to packs, passes or other bundles, as those are already adjusted to provide our maximum savings.

Due to our limited seating and heavy administrative and prep work that goes into making every Cartoon Camp great, cancellations 8+ calendar days prior to the event are 50% refundable (+ payment processing fees, if applicable).
Cancellations 7 days or less prior to Cartoon Camp are non-refundable.

Once you purchase admission through our website, there is one final step to officially secure your child’s seat at Cartoon Camp:
Within 1 business day of your order, we’ll email you a mandatory Student Information Form to help us ensure the health and safety of everyone at camp. Please watch your inbox (and spam folder) for this email from Education@Upchuckle.com—adding us to your contacts is a great idea!
The form will arrive with a clear deadline for submission (Usually about 3 days—sooner if we’re nearing the registration cutoff date). Because we have to manage our limited seating carefully, missing this deadline will result in cancellation of your order and be subject to our refund policies.
Once we’ve reviewed your form, we’ll reach out to either ask for clarification or confirm your child's seat with us is officially secured.
2–3 days before the event, we’ll send your Cartoon Camp Welcome Package with all the extra details your child will need to join us!
