Upchuckle Education is a growing creative educational provider, dedicated to offering high-quality art and animation instruction to students of all ages and experience levels. We offer a spectrum of courses, workshops and camps designed to inspire creativity and skill development in a truly supportive and engaging environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking to build a diverse, dependable and talented team of Life Drawing Models for both formally instructed courses and open-studio Life Drawing Sessions for Artists. All ages (18+), sizes, shapes and walks of life are encouraged to apply. Experience in life modeling is preferred but not required, as we welcome all individuals from various backgrounds and experience levels—as long as they are able to fulfill the responsibilities and qualifications. Experience in theatre, gymnastics or dance is an added bonus. The environment will be a respectful, comfortable and calming one, where our models will be valued, respected and appreciated at all times. Our courses are currently in development and we aim to establish long-term professional relationships with our modeling team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pose for life drawing classes and sessions, maintaining various poses for specified durations, including fast and dynamic gestures, mid-length poses and longer studies.
Staying still (it’s hard!). :)
Present a variety of poses, allowing students to study forms, structure, weight, movement, character and performance from multiple angles.
Collaborate with instructors to ensure poses meet the educational objectives of each session.
Follow directions and adapt poses and durations as needed to accommodate student learning needs.
Maintain professionalism and respect for students and instructors at all times, refraining from engaging in distracting behavior during sessions so focus can be maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Comfortable posing nude, clothed or partially clothed as required by the curriculum (details of each class or session will be provided well in advance).
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain focus during posing sessions.
Must share Upchuckle Education's commitment to providing a positive and supportive learning environment for students and a place of respect for all.
Must be located in the Barrie area or able to commute to Barrie punctually and dependably.

AND A NOTE TO CLEAR UP ANY POSSIBLE CONFUSION: This role is specifically for upcoming-and so far unrevealed-formal courses for students age 17 through adults. These courses are aimed at artists who are serious about advancing their skills and understanding in Life Drawing and the human form, whether for personal artistic growth or to prepare for post-secondary college admission portfolios.
This role is distinct from our other events, such as Cartoon Camp for kids and teens. While both uphold Upchuckle Education's commitment to providing high-quality educational experiences, these Life Drawing courses are entirely unrelated to our other offerings or anything you will find in our Student & Events Gallery.
